Near-Critical fire weather conditions are expected today for much of northeast Minnesota. This is mainly due to expected north/northwest winds gusting 20-30 mph. Fires could spread rapidly in these conditions.

Near-Critical fire weather conditions are expected today for much of northeast Minnesota. This is mainly due to expected north/northwest winds gusting 20-30 mph. Fires could spread rapidly in these conditions.

Aside from a few morning showers, expect some dry weather until rain chances start to increase slightly Thursday-Friday. Temperatures cool down briefly through Wednesday as well, warming Thursday. What about smoke? It could appear and disappear at times through the week depending on fire behavior.
