Boreal Community Media is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation designed to share stories, news, and information about community activities to keep our local Cook County community connected through our website: boreal.org. We also offer a free business directory, free classified advertising and a free regional events calendar to keep community members up to date and engaged.
We serve Grand Marais, Gunflint Trail, Hovland, Grand Portage, Lutsen, Sawbill Trail, Schroeder, Tofte and the greater Arrowhead region.
Our small but mighty team is made up or two part-time employees, and wonderful freelance writers and event photographers. If you're interested in becoming a freelancer for Boreal Community Media, please reach out to [email protected].

Sponsorships & Donations
As a non-profit organization, we depend on sponsorship support from local businesses and organizations, public and private grants, and private donations. All financial underwriting to Boreal Community Media is tax-deductible. Our sponsors in turn can choose a variety of methods ranging from business listings to advertising sponsor messages to communicate with their audiences. We have a number of different sponsorship packages to fit the needs of any business or organization.
