Jul 13, 2026 05:30AM ● By Content Editor
From the National Weather Service in Duluth - July 13, 2026

Critical fire weather is expected today across portions of north-central and northeast Minnesota, where a Red Flag Warning is in effect. Low relative humidity, very hot temperatures, and a strong southwest wind will combine with very dry fuels. These conditions could lead to the rapid spread of wildfires. A Fire Weather Watch is in effect in northern Minnesota for Tuesday, where critical fire weather concerns may continue.

Extreme heat continues today across the area, and continues for many on Tuesday. Today, widespread high temperatures in the 90s are expected, with some places along the Canadian border seeing temperatures meet or slightly exceed 100F. This will be combined with dew points in the 60s to low 70s and overnight temperatures struggling to drop below 70F. Extreme Heat Warnings and Heat Advisories remain in effect through at least Tuesday evening.
