A roundup of 4th of July events in Cook County and Grand Portage

Below is a listing of 4th of July activities taking place throughout Cook County.  All event details are subject to change by specific organizers due to weather, etc. 


Devil's Track Lake:

The annual Devil Track Boat Parade kicks off Saturday, July 4th, at 1:30 p.m., with boaters beginning to line up at 1 p.m. in front of Skyport Lodge’s dock.


Grand Marais:

Fireworks over the Grand Marais harbor on July 4th at dusk.


Grand Portage: 

July 3 & 4:  Rock the Lake.  This is a free event!  Bring your own chair or blanket.
Fireworks will take place over the Grand Portage harbor on July 4th at dusk.


Hovland Arts Festival:  


The Hovland Arts Festival showcases 40–50 local artists, live music, storytelling, food, and a warm, small‑town community vibe.  This will be held on July 4 & 5 from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Hovland Town Hall.


Schroeder Town Hall:

Schroeder Fire Department Pancake Breakfast from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.


Tofte Town Hall/Park:

9:00 a.m:  Tofte Trek Begins at the Birch Grove Community Center
11:00 a.m:  Festivities begin which include live music, arts and craft show, bouncy houses, food, and beer garden
2:00 p.m:  Parade starts
10:00 p.m.:  Fireworks at Tofte Town Park
