WTIP North Shore Community Radio is excited to announce the launch of the new WTIP mobile app, designed to make it easier for listeners to stay informed, connected, and engaged with our community.
The free app gives listeners access to WTIP’s live stream, podcasts, archived programs, and station schedule - all from their phone or tablet. With features like pause and rewind for live radio, background listening, and a built-in alarm clock that wakes users up to WTIP programming, the app brings local radio into daily life in a new and accessible way.
“At WTIP, we believe the North Shore deserves to be heard,” said Katie Belanger, the station’s Development Director. “This app is about strengthening community connection: making sure people can stay connected to local voices, local news, weather, music, and storytelling wherever they are in their day. Community radio plays an important role here, and this gives listeners another way to stay part of the conversation.”
The app allows users to catch up on something they missed, listen to programs on their own schedule, or tune in while working, driving up the trail, or spending time outdoors.
The app was developed in partnership with Public Media Apps, a company that creates mobile solutions for public radio stations nationwide.
The WTIP App is available now as a free download through Apple and Android app stores.
WTIP North Shore Community Radio exists as a nonprofit, dynamic, local media resource that connects, reflects, and builds community on the North Shore of Lake Superior. For more information or to download the app, visit WTIP.org.
