Chad and Jessy recently purchased Wildfire Sprinker Systems.  Jessy is also co-owner of Angry Trout Cafe.

How did you land in Cook County?  What journey brought you both here?
Chad: I moved to Cook County to pursue outdoor style living and had family in the area. So it was a good fit.
Jessy: I moved to Grand Marais in 2020 with Chad when the stars aligned and we found a place to live. I came from Aitkin county where I was raised, and rural living is in my blood.

You recently purchased Wildfire Sprinkler Systems.  Can you share a bit about the importance of this business, what it involves, and how you can be reached?
Chad: It is very important to protect properties from the impact of wildfires, whether they are private properties or resorts. These systems require upkeep and maintenance, and having 20 plus years of firewire and irrigation experience really pays off when designing, maintaining, and promoting these systems.

We can be reached at cell 218-256-1136, Office 218-877-7012, or [email protected]

Jessy:  As co-owner of the Angry Trout Cafe and now Wildfire Sprinkler Systems, your days must be very exhausting.  How do you and both find time for self-care and time to unwind?
Yes, days can feel crazy. But, luckily I live in the most beautiful place in the country and enjoy many actives outdoors. Hunting, fishing, camping, mountain biking, hiking, Bird watching etc..

Where is your favorite go-to spot in the County?

Any mountain bike trail!!!!

Grand Marais is known for its sense of community.  What other activities or organizations are you both involved in?
We are a part of the Superior Cycling Association as members and business sponsors. We also financially support the youth mountain bike team. Jessy is involved with the Art Colony’s pottery department, and volunteers/provides food at local events such as EATS, Empty Bowls, GES’s chili cookoff, Pride and more.

Chad grooms ski trails for Norpine in the winter.

Lastly, what is your favorite part of living and working in Cook County?

Jessy: just being part of such a diverse and awesome community. We love knowing our neighbors and having access to beautiful clean water and outdoor resources. We just bought a very old Lake Superior fishing boat and hope to spend more time out on the big water fishing and exploring!

Note:  Wildire Sprinkler Systems is a new business sponsor of Boreal Community Media.  We thank them for their support!
