Randy and Sharon Sjogren are a true testament to the old saying that “when one door closes, another opens”.

Since selling the beloved Putt n Pets business in Grand Marais several years ago, they are now living the good life together in their Apple Valley, Minnesota home. They said it was a hard decision to sell the business that was such a big part of their lives, but that "the timing was perfect".   Randy said they try to make it up to Grand Marais at least once or twice a year to visit family and friends.  Last summer, they spent several weeks in Grand Marais, staying in their camper at Putt n Pets.

Several years ago, they shared their story of love and faith with Boreal Community Media in an article that resurfaces right around Valentine's Day every year.  This year they will celebrate their 60-year wedding anniversary in August.

Randy and Sharon recently purchased a 1989 Ford camper van.  They both giggled when telling about their first big road trip.  When asked where they went, they replied, “All over the state of Wisconsin”.  Randy smiled when telling how he decked out the van headlights with pumpkins, making sure to remove them at night so he would not get a ticket.

Between the 25 beloved grandchildren that they share between the two of them, helping the homeless, and taking road trips in their newly acquired van, they continue to stay active and enjoy all that life has to offer.  Grand Marais will always hold a special spot in their hearts!
