Earth was hit by a powerful solar storm earlier this week. It was one of the strongest storms in several years creating beautiful auroras. Fortunately, Karla and I woke up at 4:00 AM and looked out the bedroom window. The sky exploded with color.
Due to the cold temperatures, I took some photos out of the window but soon I had to put on my full winter gear and head outside to experience the colors from horizon-to-horizon. Pillars of color formed a curtain that pulsated across the sky starting in the west and moving east. Bright reds were the first to show continuing with all the colors imaginable.
