From the Grand Marais Playhouse - January 20, 2026

The Grand Marais Playhouse will hold a summer theater camp June 8-18, Monday - Friday, 9am - 5 PM, with public performances on June 20 & 21 at 1 PM at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts in Grand Marais. 

Youth ages 8-14 are encouraged to participate in the creation of Olympus, The Greek Rock Musical.  The cost of the summer camp is $400. There are scholarships available. 

Sponsors are needed to help keep the summer camp accessible. Sponsor a camper today. 

This camp is an ensemble activity. All participants will learn to sing, dance, create scenery, and costumes. 

The camp director will be Sue Hennessy. 

About the Musical

OLYMPUS is a laugh-out-loud rock musical where ancient myths meet modern mischief! The Greek gods, tired of their immortal routines, spark a competition to meddle with mortals and prove who’s the greatest greek god of all time. When a group of modern-day cousins set off on a hike to “Olympus Overlook,” they have no idea they’re about to be tested by ancient deities. With catchy songs, heartfelt moments, and plenty of laughs, Olympus is a mythic adventure about family, connection, and discovering that the real view from the top is the one you share together.
