The Cook County/Grand Marais Joint Economic Development Authority (EDA) is seeking applications for an upcoming vacancy on its Board.

The Cook County/Grand Marais Joint EDA was established in 1988 by the Minnesota Legislature. This joint authority consists of seven commissioners: four appointed by the Cook County Board and three by the Grand Marais City Council. Its mission is to strengthen economic and community vitality by building partnerships and leveraging resources to make Cook County a great place to live, work, and do business.

There is currently a Cook County Board position open, and applications are being accepted with a preference for individuals who reside outside the Grand Marais city limits. The EDA Board meets once per month, and some committee work may also be required between meetings.

Serving on the EDA offers Cook County residents an opportunity to engage with both government and the private sector while helping advance the vision of a thriving community with a resilient, balanced economy.

To submit an application ONLINE (use this link from the Cook County MN website):  https://cocookmn.civicweb.net/Portal/BoardApplication/
