The second system is expected to move into Minnesota later on Tuesday. Forecasts indicate this system will primarily affect areas south of Cook County, with expected snow accumulations of up to an inch.
With this system, wind gusts of 25 to 35 mph are expected late Tuesday and overnight into Wednesday morning. These winds are projected to cause blowing snow and reduce visibility, according to the NWS. Current conditions are available by calling 511 or visiting www.511mn.org.
Looking ahead, very cold temperatures are forecast to arrive this weekend. Temperatures are expected to drop starting Friday, with daytime highs on Saturday and Sunday likely remaining below average low temperatures for this time of year.
