Following multiple washouts from spring storms late last month, work has been in progress to repair affected roads, particularly in the Gunflint Trail area. Late last week, the USFS - Superior National Forest provided an update on the progress.
Shoe Lake Road (FR313) and South Brule River Road (FR325) are now fully open. However, the repaired section of Shoe Lake Road is only passable with a single lane at this time.
Trout Lake Road (FR140), north of County Road 14, remains impassable, but work is expected to be completed early this week.
The Cook County Highway Department has repaired all Cook County roads impacted by the storm, including Hungry Jack Road (CR 21), Clearwater Road (CR 22), Round Lake Road (UT 47), North Gunflint Lake Road (UT 46), Moose Valley Road (UT 71), and the Superior Hiking Trail parking lot on the Arrowhead Trl (CSAH 16).
