In a morning post on Facebook, the Gunflint Mail Run Board of Directors officially announced that the 2025 race will be postponed for a later date. The start of the new year may evoke déjà vu for some, as last year's Gunflint Mail Run was also postponed around this time.
According to the announcement, "last week's rain took a toll on the race course, and the current forecast holds little to no snow" before the scheduled race date of January 11. Race officials stated that another foot or more of snow is needed to pull off a "safe and successful race," and the upcoming forecast shows little to no expected accumulations.
No official date has been set, with officials hoping to reschedule the race for sometime in February.
