What a difference a year makes. The Cook County Community Center ice rinks are ready!  Our ice team members have prepared two rinks – the upper smaller rink in front of the warming house, and the large hockey rink in the arena – for your outdoor skating pleasure. Both are located on the Community Center campus. 

Starting Thursday, December 26, 2024, the warming house will be open and staffed daily from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. You can even rent skates, or have your skates sharpened. It will be a place to warm up, with healthy snacks for sale.  From popcorn to Goldfish crackers, apple sauce to Rice Krispie bars, hot chocolate to coffee, there are food items to warm you up and keep you going while out in the cold. We invite you to celebrate winter and to come enjoy the ice.

The warming house closes if the temperature or windchill is -20, or if an active snowstorm occurs during normal rink hours.
