With election day just around the corner, we want to make sure all Cook County residents have the information they need to cast their vote on the school district bond referendum. The referendum asks voters in our district to consider three questions that, if approved, would invest a combined $36.78 million to complete additions and renovations to our district’s K-12 school building and grounds. The referendum plan was created with the help of our district’s teachers, parents, students and other community members, and aims to ensure our school building meets today's educational standards and remains a great place for students to learn and grow.

VikingsVision.org provides a full description of each ballot question and its goals. This website also includes detailed information about how the referendum, if approved, will impact property taxes in our district.

Given the importance of our school to Cook County, we are committed to providing every voter with the information they need to ensure their vote is counted.

The three referendum questions will appear on the same ballot as the races for the presidency and state and local offices. For registered voters who live outside of Grand Marais, a ballot should have been automatically mailed to you. If you have not already done so, please complete and return the ballot according to the instructions included. Residents outside of Grand Marais do not have an in-person polling location on Election Day. You must use your automatically mailed ballot to vote.

If you live in Grand Marais, polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Election Day (Tuesday, Nov. 5). If you are unsure where to find your polling place, visit pollfinder.sos.state.mn.us.

The three referendum questions may appear at the bottom or on the back side of your ballot, so make sure to complete your entire ballot before you submit your vote.

If you have already voted early or submitted your mailed ballot, thank you. Regardless of how you vote, our district is grateful to have community members who take the time to consider and participate in these important decisions for our students.

If you have any questions about voting in the referendum, please visit VikingsVision.org/vote or the Cook County website.
