How long have you been at Great Expectations School?
Hi there! My name is Fern, and I’m just under two years old. This is my second year working at Great Expectations School, where I’m training to be a Therapy Dog when I get older. Right now, my job is to get used to being around lots of people, stay calm when unexpected things happen, and bring happiness to students and staff every day.
What’s the best part of my workday?
Oh, that’s easy! I absolutely love greeting the kiddos when they get off the bus in the morning. Seeing their smiles makes me feel really special. Sometimes, kids talk to me when they aren’t quite ready to talk to adults, and I know that’s a really important part of my job. Plus, grazing the cafeteria floor after breakfast and lunch is a blast—especially on taco day. Yum!
Do I have any hobbies?
When I’m not busy working, I love going on long hikes, walks, or even runs. I also have a favorite toy—an old Croc—that’s so much fun to toss around!
I spend all my time with my person, Rachael, who even lets me hang out in the Director's office! I also have a special cat friend, Pooter. She’s so fascinating, and I love watching her do her cat things.
