Bogus Lake Fire October 10 Update

The US Forest Service and Minnesota DNR have issued an update regarding the status of the Bogus Lake Fire, located approximately 13 miles northeast of Grand Marais. As of 12 p.m. on October 10, containment efforts were well underway for the now 53-acre fire. Fire crews have made good progress constructing a fireline out of hand tools and have 100% plumbed the perimeter with hoses. Additionally, the USFS states that mopping efforts are underway, and crews are making good progress. At the time of the fire update release, 0% of the perimeter had been contained. However, there are currently no threats or closures associated with this fire.
Both USFS and MN DNR are staffing the firefighting efforts.
The Bogus Lake Fire was originally detected on Monday, October 8. At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown.
