Sunday night was going to be the last evening to photograph the Midsummer Full Moon. The moon was predicted to rise fifty minutes after sunset. I almost didn’t go in to photograph it because I thought it would be too dark. Being that it was a clear evening that wasn’t the case.
When the atmospheric conditions are just right the moisture over the lake can reflect the light making the moonrise seem like it is melting.
The smoke from the Canadian wildfires also made the moon more red.
It was an absolutely beautiful evening to watch this magical event.
