Birch Grove Community School for Friday, April 21:
We will have a two hour late start tomorrow, Friday, April 21. We have some families without power right now and many that need to get dug out. A two hour late start tomorrow will hopefully allow for families and staff to snowplow and for Highway 61 road work to get done prior to our routes leaving in the a.m. We do anticipate having school tomorrow after the late start. Later in the day will bring more acceptable weather and road conditions.
It looks as if this should be the last of any severe weather for the school year. Let's hope!
As always, we appreciate your understanding with what Mother Nature is throwing at us this spring!

On the plus side, there's still time to register for our free April Lunch & Learn - "Dementia Conversations!" We are pleased to welcome Jenna Pogorels from the Alzheimer’s Association who will share tips for breaking the ice with your family to address some difficult-to-discuss issues related to dementia, including driving, doctor's visits and financial planning.  Thanks to our generous lunch sponsor Hamilton Habitat Inc, the first 20 people who register for the in-person class will enjoy a free chef's salad lunch from The Hub! The class will be held in person (fingers crossed!) at Cook County Higher Education and via Zoom April 26 from noon to 1pm.  Here's the Cook County Higher Education registration link!
