A cold front Friday brings a widely scattered chance of rain showers and thunderstorms across the region, but a few thunderstorms have the potential to be strong with brief gusty erratic winds and small hail. A few showers and thunderstorms could linger into Saturday (15-30% chance), but generally the weekend is expected to see mostly sunny skies with increasing heat and humidity. Potentially hazardous heat could affect the Northland Sunday and Monday.
