From the National Weather Service in Duluth - July 1, 2026

Are you weather-ready today? A Slight Risk (Level 2 of 5) for severe storms covers much of northwest Wisconsin and Hinckley to Rock Creek in Minnesota. We are monitoring two distinct windows for storm development: a late morning/early afternoon round, followed by a potentially more intense late afternoon/overnight round. The late afternoon and overnight storms over northwest Wisconsin pose the greatest risk, capable of producing 80 mph winds, 2-inch hail, and brief tornadoes. Please check your weather radios and ensure your cell phone's emergency alerts are enabled!
