From Cook County - June 11, 2026

Cook County, North Shore Waste and the Cook County Chamber of Commerce are excited to invite the public to celebrate the completion of the new Grand Marais Transfer Station at a ribbon cutting and open house event on Friday, June 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The event will take place at the Grand Marais Transfer Station, located at 75 Eliasen Mill Road, Grand Marais, MN 55604.

Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the new facility, enjoy complimentary food and beverages, and learn more about the improved services and infrastructure now available to the community.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the funding partners who made this project possible. This effort was supported by generous contributions from Iron Range Resources & Rehabilitation (IRRR) and Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED), whose investment played a critical role in bringing this initiative to the community. Their commitment to strengthening and improving services in Cook County is deeply valued, and we are grateful for their partnership.
