Governor Tim Walz has ordered all United States and Minnesota flags to fly at half-staff at all state buildings in the State of Minnesota, from sunrise until noon on Monday, May 25, 2026, in honor of those who have died while serving in the United States military.

“On Memorial Day, Minnesotans come together to remember the heroes who have given their lives for the freedoms and values that define our great nation,” said Governor Walz. “Let us never forget those brave service members who chose to serve something greater than themselves. Today, we commit ourselves to preserving their legacy by honoring their sacrifice and extending our deepest gratitude.”

Families, individuals, businesses, and other organizations are also encouraged to join in lowering their flags. The Governor’s proclamation can be found here.
