In recognition of National Prescription Drug Takeback Day, Cook County Public Health is partnering with the Grand Marais Public Library and the YMCA to promote safe medication disposal. Safe disposal of unwanted or expired medications helps prevent accidental ingestion, misuse, and overdose.

From Monday, April 20th through Friday, May 1st community members can pick up free medication deactivation bags in the Grand Marais Public Library Lobby and the Cook County Courthouse Lobby. 

For year-round safe disposal, a secure medication drop box located in the front lobby of the Cook County Law Enforcement Center.
