The Grand Marais Public Library is pleased to present The Skally Line, old-time stringband music performed by the Fred Keller trio on Saturday, March 21 at 12:30pm. This is a free event welcoming all with no registration required.
The Skally Line presents traditional, foot stomping music paired with enduring stories. They will beguile you with a broad repertoire of original music all about Minnesota people, places and events. This riveting concert weaves together tales and tunes with string band music, Irish folk tunes and old ballads. Skally Line brings to life outrageous, funny, and touching stories of the past!
The Skally Line’s main line-up is Fred Keller (mandolins), Dave Tousley (bass and vocal), and Bill Cagley (guitar, banjo, and limberjack). Keller has played music professionally for two decades. He learned from some of the best mandolin players around, including master classes with the renowned Mike Compton. Tousley is an all-world bass player, a strong singer, and has played with most top-notch bands in Minnesota. Cagley is a full-time musician who learned music in Waterloo and Iowa City, Iowa. He has been a full-time professional musician since 1987, performing at colleges and schools across the United States and many parks, including Yellowstone National Park.
This program, sponsored by Arrowhead Library System, was funded in part or in whole with money from Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund (ACHF).
