Tickets are now on sale for the Cook County ISD166 Education Foundation's annual fundraising event, E.A.T.S. (Enriching Academics Through Sustenance), scheduled for March 5, 2026. The event will take place at the ISD166 School from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, featuring food from local restaurants, live music, and a silent auction.
The E.A.T.S. event serves as the Education Foundation's largest annual fundraising effort, according to Education Foundation Board Member Rebecca Barrett. This year, the organization hopes to raise approximately $10,000.
"100% of the funds from the ticket sale and silent auction go directly to supporting educators and students within the Cook County Schools by funding grants offering unique experiences for students through innovative instruction and co-curricular programs," she said before adding that this funding goes beyond what can be provided by ISD166 or other sources.
Recent examples of what the Education Foundation has helped fund include the 2026 high school trip to Spain, bringing the LOON Opera to Sawtooth Elementary School, and sending 6th graders to the Minnesota State Capitol and Guthrie Theater for a class trip. According to Barrett, over $9,000 was awarded to ISD166 students and educators in 2025.
A "Multi-Dining Extravaganza"
This year's event features 15 participating restaurants, including returning favorites such as Coho Cafe, The Angry Trout, and Mougles, as well as newcomers Fisherman's Daughter and Superior Creamery. High School Culinary Arts students will work alongside local professional eateries to provide samples. Featured menu items for this year include Swedish Meatballs with Lingonberry Sauce, Wild Rice Fritters, and Green Chili and Chicken Tortilla Soup. Barrett described the event as a "multi-dining extravaganza."In addition to the food offerings, the event will feature live music performed by members of the local community.
The silent auction features items and gift cards donated by local businesses. This year’s selection includes gift cards to local businesses, such as a wine tasting at North Shore Winery, private sauna sessions at Sisu & Loyly, and massages at North Lake Wellness.
Tickets for the event are $30 per person. Barrett said the Education Foundation recommends purchasing tickets in advance at the ISD166 Office, Crosby Bakery, Java Moose, or Subway. She shared that tickets usually sell out, and door sales are typically very limited.
New this year, the Cook County YMCA is offering a "Parents Night Out" during the event from 4:45 pm to 7:15 pm. Advanced registration with the YMCA is required.
