Update: Work on the Gunflint Trail has been completed, and all subscribers should have access to service again.

Arrowhead Cooperative is conducting repair work on its fiber network at the end of the Gunflint Trail following storm damage that occurred on September 8. Lightning from that storm hit and damaged an underground fiber.

According to a September 11th Facebook post from Arrowhead Cooperative, the repair work involves re-splicing fibers, which may cause additional service interruptions for subscribers in the area. The cooperative stated on September 10th that it was aware of intermittent fiber service issues and had technicians troubleshooting the problems.

Sara McManus, member services manager for Arrowhead Cooperative, shared that lightning damage was more extensive than initially believed, requiring additional splicing repairs.

Arrowhead Cooperative will provide updates once the work is complete.
