From the Cook County Highway Department - September 2, 2025


Here is an update on the Spruce Creek Bridge Replacement in Lutsen (Project 016-599-005): 

The bridge is complete, and the road is open!

Cook County Highway Department and our partner, Northland Constructors, have completed the project. The roadway and bridge opened at approximately 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2025. Vegetation should be established by spring/summer 2026 with a variety of native grasses and wildflowers.

The project cost $809,000 and was funded via the Town Bridge and Special Town Bridge accounts, with a $10,000 local match for engineering and a $10,000 local match for construction.
