Once again, The Hub and Bethlehem Lutheran Church are teaming up to host a back-to-school supply drive to support local students and ensure they have the necessary tools for a successful year of learning.

The idea initially began a few years ago, when a community member approached The Hub with the idea to run the drive. Given its central location and the good cause, they decided to take it on. In a 2024 interview with Chris Bautch, programs director at The Hub, she told Boreal Community Media that the drive is expected to have great success and credited the community for being “very generous and supportive” in the past.
The drive began on August 1st and will run through September 1st, and will benefit students in all Cook County schools. The collection site for donations is at The Hub/Grand Marais Senior Center at 10 N Broadway Ave. Community members can purchase supplies and drop them off or make a financial donation to purchase supplies on their behalf.
There are other ways community members can get involved. Help spread the word, or team up with co-workers, your neighborhood, and/or faith community to gather supplies.
For questions, call: 218-387-2660 or [email protected].
Each Cook County school has its own supply needs for students; however, here are some commonly needed items across all organizations:
