Here is an update on the Spruce Creek Bridge Replacement in Lutsen (Project 016-599-005):
Northland Constructors poured the deck on Friday, the 15th. The deck pour was
completed the same day, and it went very well. The next steps in the construction and
completion of this project are back-filling the abutments for the new bridge structure,
some minor road work, and the installation of the timber railings.
Cascade Beach Road is closed from Spruce Creek Cabins (address # 4146) to Spruce Falls Cabins (address # 4140). Spruce Creek Cabins may be reached from the west on Cascade Beach Rd or from Highway 61. Access to Spruce Falls Cabins is not hindered.
The $809,000 project should be complete by mid-August. The project is funded via the Town Bridge and Special Town Bridge accounts, with a $10,000 local match for engineering and a $10,000 local match for construction.
