From the Superior National Forest - August 4, 2025


The Superior National Forest has issued Forest Closure Order 09-09-25-08 that restricts highway vehicle traffic on Trout Lake Road (Forest Road 380) beginning from the junction of Mink Lake Road (Forest Road 140), and Ball Club Lake Road (Forest Road 323), beginning from the junction of the Mit Lake Road Spur (Forest Road 323J) on the Gunflint Ranger District in Cook County.

The Order will go into effect on August 1, 2025, at 12:01 am CT, and remain in effect until August 1, 2026, or until rescinded.

• Trout Lake Road closure affects the Trout Lake Boat Access.
• Ball Club Lake closure affects Ball Club Lake, Thrush Lake, and Bath Lake access.

The Order is needed to increase protection of public health and safety during storm repair management activities, protect employees engaged in the various missions of the National Forest System, protect natural resources, and allow local landowner, county communication staff, and emergency vehicle access.
