3:45 p.m. update: Missing Person’s Vehicle Located in Cook County

The Lake County Sheriff's Office has issued a request for assistance in locating 40-year-old Gene Adam Doherty, who was last seen on July 1, 2025.

According to a statement released by the Sheriff's Office, Doherty was last seen leaving his mother's home near Silver Bay, Minnesota. He reportedly left the residence driving a 2009 dark blue Ford Edge, with license plate SHS838. At the time he was last seen, Doherty was described as  without his dog, which "concerned family and friends."

According to the Lake County Sheriff's Office, Doherty may be experiencing a mental health crisis. Officials are asking anyone who has had contact with Doherty or who possesses information regarding his whereabouts to contact the Lake County Sheriff's Office at (218) 834-8385.
