From Castle Danger Brewery - June 19, 2025
On Saturday, June 21, 2025, Castle Danger Brewery, the fourth largest brewery in Minnesota, will host its 2nd annual Pig Roast in collaboration with local companies-Baptism River Barbecue, Scotty’s Whole Hog Barbecue and Y-ker Acres. Food service starts at 3pm, but the festivities kick off at 11am.
“Last year was such a huge success, we sold out,” said Director of Sales and Marketing, Andrea Arabanos. “We immediately got back to work with Baptism River Barbecue to start planning this year’s event, to make it bigger and better! We are thrilled to have people gather at the brewery for this family friendly, free event filled with great food, excellent local music and of course-awesome Castle Danger Beer,” continued Arabanos.
Lacey Fischer, Marketing and Events Coordinator, adds: “We knew we wanted to host the event earlier in the season, and thought Grandma’s Marathon Weekend would be a perfect fit. We hope to see a lot of runners, volunteers, and spectators join us post-race to celebrate and re-fuel!”
Special activities are planned throughout the day at the Castle Danger Brewery Taproom located at 17 7th St., Two Harbors, MN:
FOOD TRUCK: Baptism River Barbecue
LIVE MUSIC: Lake Effect String Band / 12:30-2:30pm
Kevin James and the Weary / 3:00-8:30pm
GREAT BEER: Castle Danger Brewery will be serving year-round and seasonal beer options as well as a specialty beer. The brewery collaborated with Baptism River Barbecue to make an exclusive beer to pair with the pig roast called “Swineapple Wheat,” which is an American Wheat Ale infused with pineapple smoked by Baptism River Barbecue.

ABOUT CASTLE DANGER BREWERY
Castle Danger Brewery has been brewing dangerously good ales on the North Shore of Lake Superior since 2011. After out-growing their 3-bbl brewhouse in Castle Danger, they opened a new location in downtown Two Harbors in 2014 with a 30-bbl brewing system, canning line, and year-round taproom. The taproom is a greatly expanded outdoor space that overlooks the beautiful Lake Superior. This expansion allowed them to grow from 13 local tap lines to statewide distribution. Three years later, they built a packaging hall that houses all cold-side production, including canning, kegging and an expanded cooler. They also updated their taproom by increasing the number of tap lines from 10 to 22 and offers growlers and crowlers. Castle Danger beer is distributed in bars, restaurants and liquor stores throughout Minnesota, Western Wisconsin and SE North Dakota (Fargo and Grand Forks).
