This week we were able to watch a family of white-tailed deer spend about a half hour in a pond. This is the first time I have seen them nurse in the water. After taking turns nursing, they became energetic. Even though they were a little wobbly they were jumping back and forth like they were dancing.  First in the water and then on the trails.  

While mom was still in the pond they ran as fast as they could back and forth. They seemed so excited to run carefree through the grass. It always brings a smile to my face when I see newborn fawns exploring the world for the first time.
