Grand Marais Playhouse: Volunteers needed to rearrange auditorium

The Grand Marais Playhouse will begin the transition from proscenium to thrust stage configuration in the Arrowhead Center for the Arts on Wednesday, June 4, at 9 AM. Volunteers (no young children please) are needed to remove the seating to the lobby and stage. This requires some heavy lifting, pushing chair units on carts up a ramp, and moving and stacking risers and placing our temporary “stage” floor.
Work will continue until done or 5 PM. Then, on Thursday and Friday, June 5th and 6th, the stage lights will be changed to accommodate the new configuration. No volunteers needed for this, but anyone interested in stage lighting is welcome to assist anytime, 9 am- 5 PM each day.
On Saturday, May 7, at 9 AM, the risers and seating will be placed in the new layout. This requires some heavy lifting, pushing chair units on carts down a ramp, vacuuming, moving, and placing risers.
Volunteers will receive two complimentary tickets to any Playhouse production.
