Update: A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Cook and Lake Counties, and Grand Portage

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Duluth has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Cook and Lake Counties and the Tribal Lands of the Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa between late tonight and early Saturday morning.
Two systems will impact northern Minnesota beginning Friday morning and continuing through Saturday at 1 a.m. The second system will move in on Saturday afternoon and is expected to last until Sunday afternoon.
Up to four inches of snow and sleet are possible, particularly around Grand Portage, along with up to one to two-tenths of an inch of ice accumulations. The greatest ice accumulations will occur inland from Lake Superior across Lake and Cook Counties.
Winds up to 35 mph are also possible.
Travel is expected to be impacted, with roads, overpasses, and bridges becoming slick and icy. For the most up-to-date road conditions, visit 511mn.org.
