With the different fronts passing through, the Weather Service put out “Gale Warnings” along the North Shore. West Southwest winds blow waves right into the Grand Marais shore.

I spent a couple of hours wave watching and snapping photos as they collided with the break wall. The largest wave that I photographed crashing into the Grand Marais lighthouse was a few years ago. It was the only one that massive in the two hours that I was watching.
