We have seen an ermine (short-tailed weasel) twice this year. This one is about six inches long. They are tiny but fierce predators. They are very skilled hunters having great speed and agility and can catch squirrels and even rabbits.

They are also very curious. This little guy poked its head out from many places under the logs as it was searching for voles. Then it disappeared into one of its tunnels under the snow and we haven’t seen it since.
