The Grand Portage National Monument presents Travis Novitsky Presentation and Book Signing on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
Travis Novitsky is a proud member and lifelong resident of the Grand Portage Anishinaabe Nation in northeast Minnesota. He is a self-taught nature and wildlife photographer whose work focuses primarily on his ancestral homelands in Minnesota. Travis is the photographer for the book “Spirits Dancing - The Night Sky, Indigenous Knowledge & Cultural Connections to the Cosmos,” published in 2023 by the Minnesota Historical Society Press. Written by astrophysicist, artist, and director of the Native Skywatchers research and programming initiative, Annette S. Lee, the book explores the wonders of star bathing.
