The US Forest Service will burn piles between Hungry Jack and West Bearskin Lakes today, Wednesday, November 13. According to a representative from the Superior National Forest division, the burning will begin mid-morning and end around 3 p.m.
Fire crews hope to burn through 176 acres of piles today. However, additional burning may occur on November 14 if it cannot be completed on the 13th. If this is the case, another update will be issued. No planned burning will take place on Friday.
The USFS is asking people to know that burning is taking place in the area and that they may see smoke or flames. Fire crews are on the scene.
