Ghosts, goblins, and... snow? This Halloween might have a chilly surprise in store for trick-or-treaters. For those heading out hoping to score some treats, here's what you should know.

In true Minnesota weather fashion, temperatures in the upper 50s and lower 60s will prevail today before a low-pressure system brings showers and thunderstorms to the area through Thursday. On Thursday, temperatures will be much cooler, with a predicted high of 40F and a low of 27F, and precipitation will change to a wintry mix to all snow through Friday morning.

While it doesn't seem that we will be repeating the historic Halloween Blizzard of 1991, a dusting to an inch of snow is possible. According to the National Weather Service, some spots may see up to 2 inches.

Looking ahead, the Climate Prediction Center has forecasted above-average temperatures and average precipitation for the first ten days of November.
