Reminder of Superior NF District Open House Events –Laurentian, Tofte, Gunflint and Duluth

From Superior National Forest - October 22, 2024
The Superior National Forest reminds interested public, businesses, partners, Tribes and Bands, and organizations about two District Ranger’s office open house events coming next week:
- Monday, October 28 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Laurentian District Office, 318 Forestry Road, Aurora, 218-453-8650. Hosted locally by District Ranger, Adam Cochran, and Forest Supervisor Tom Hall.
Forest Service Staff will be available to discuss engineering and bridge construction projects, non-native invasive species treatments, prescribed fires, recreation projects, silvicultural and timber work, and wildlife projects. Maps and project materials will be on hand for public review.
- Wednesday, October 30 from 4:00-7 p.m. at the Tofte District Office, 7655 W. Highway 61, Tofte, 218-663-8060. Hosted locally by District Ranger, Ellen Bogardus-Szymaniak and Forest Supervisor Tom Hall.
Forest Service Staff will be available to discuss vegetation management projects, hazardous fuels reduction projects including prescribed burning and other projects and activities. Maps and project materials will be on hand for public review.
In addition, two open house events will be held next month. Those interested in attending are encouraged to save the dates.
- November 12 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Supervisor’s Office, 8901 Grand Avenue Place, Duluth, MN. 218-626-4300. Hosted locally by Forest Supervisor Tom Hall.
Forest Service Staff will be available to discuss ongoing land acquisitions, the Boundary Waters Plan amendment, plans for the funds awarded by the Collaborative Wildfire Risk Reduction Program and vegetation management projects. Maps and project materials will be on hand for public review. - November 13 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Gunflint District Office, 2020 W. Highway 61, Grand Marais. 218-387-1750. Hosted locally by District Ranger, Kyle Stover, and Forest Supervisor Tom Hall.
