Due to the drought, warm weather and plenty of sunshine this has been a delightful fall to be outdoors, but one of the most unusual years for colors that I can remember. Some of the maples and oaks changed early then turned brown within days. A week later the yellows of the birch and aspen intermittently changed colors over several weeks but again with a more muted color. Now this week with plenty of sunshine individual maples and oaks that hadn’t changed before developed brilliant shades of reds and oranges.
