Pellet Gun Incident at Cook County High School: Officials Stress No Harm Intended, Swift Response by Staff and Admin

A pellet gun was confiscated from a student at Cook County High School on October 15, 2024, according to a memo sent by District 166 Superintendent Chris Lindholm. According to school officials, the incident was handled promptly and professionally.
"The students involved were cooperative, and there was no intent to harm anyone," said Lindholm. "The incident was thoroughly investigated and addressed appropriately." The memo was sent to "help dispel possible rumors."
The school administration did not release any further details about the incident. However, they emphasized that the safety of students and staff is their top priority.
"We want to thank our staff members and school administrative team for their quick and professional response to this situation," Lindholm said. "Additionally, we would like to express our gratitude to our families and community members for their continued support in keeping our students and community safe."
