Author Leif Enger spoke about his new book, "I Cheerfully Refuse", at Drury Lane Books on July 13th. Enger, a New York Times best-selling author, is a native Minnesotan and his book takes place on our very own Lake Superior.
Enger shared that his book is a dystopian novel set some decades in the future about “a man who is sent on an Orphean quest in the great inland sea of Lake Superior, and the adventures he has along the way.”
Enger’s reading was accompanied by acoustic guitar music by his friend Jamie Neff. Neff, also a Minnesota native, sang a humorous song about his misadventures when he moved to Grand Marais as a young adult in the early 90s.
Following the reading and music, Enger was available inside for book signings, and the line to purchase a copy was out the door of the small book shop.
