WTIP’s summer membership drive, “Extra-Terrestrial Radio” kicks off on Wednesday, July 10th, and everyone is invited to support truly local radio broadcast from the heart of the North Shore. We know our listeners tune in from remote places but our (extra) terrestrial radio reflects our local roots: we are (super) grounded as we focus on local news, arts, culture, and more. 

All six days of the drive have something extra to offer and all are invited to participate in our community events with live music and free lunches on Friday, July 12th and Monday, July 15th sponsored in part by the North Shore Federal Credit Union and by Arrowhead Cooperative. On Friday, July 12th, live music is provided by Boyd, Lyndon, and Grace Blomberg. Live music on Monday, July 15th is provided by the Pete K Group. Join us either day for a picnic lunch in the backyard at--1712 W. Highway 61 in Grand Marais to celebrate 26 years of really local radio. 

On Saturday, July 13th we’ll be broadcasting live from the Grand Marais Art Festival. Stop by our tent, located between Drury Lane Books and World’s Best Donuts, to say hi, listen to artist interviews, and grab a free treat for your dog! 

We will also have special guests live in the studio throughout the week and a DJ spinning music under the tent on Monday night, July 15th, with free ice cream, courtesy of Superior Creamery.
