Are you a caregiver or family member of someone experiencing memory loss? Are you a practitioner who works with patients with dementia? Thanks to a grant from the North Shore Health Care Foundation, the Grand Marais Art Colony and Care Partners of Cook County are teaming up to offer three free workshops that might be a good fit for you.

Art therapist Erin Rafferty-Bugher will lead three separate sessions on August 15, 16, and 17, providing a creative process for participants to give expression to their experience and acquire resources to improve their physical, mental, and emotional health in light of memory loss. No artistic experience is required for any of these sessions and while they are free, space is limited.

Erin received her MA in Art Therapy from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and has been actively engaged in the mental health field using art therapy and creativity in healing since 1998. Her experience includes trauma-focused work with children and adolescents in long-term educational/therapeutic and hospital settings as well as with adults and older adults within clinical behavioral mental health hospital settings. Erin has extensive teaching and training experience. Learn more about Erin at brainspark.art.
