Much of Northeastern Minnesota received over three inches of rain this week which brought flooding to the many North Shore Rivers. Flooding along the North Shore usually doesn’t do much damage it just brings the water to a boisterous roar as it passes through the gorges on its way to Lake Superior.
I traveled to the High Falls at Grand Portage. It was a blue-sky day so the mist caused by over 28,000 gallons of water per second coming over the 135-foot falls to create a pretty astonishing double rainbow. It really should be called a mist bow. Fortunately, from past experience, we knew to bring our rain jackets because everyone on the overlook was getting drenched. Not to mention my camera.
