It has been a great year for wood ducks. We have a little beaver pond on our property outside of Grand Marias and during the spring migration wood ducks will utilize the pond both in the early mornings and late evenings. Wood ducks are definitely my favorite duck. They are very spooky though and hard to get close to. To get photos I have a blind and have to be in it by 5:30 AM. They fly in right at 5:45 each morning.
