We took a trip up the Gunflint Trail this week. The fall colors have disappeared but it is a beautiful drive any time of year. You can always count on seeing several species of wildlife. About mid-trail, we came across a red fox that happened to catch a mouse in the ditch next to us. You can see the legs and tail of the mouse sticking out of the red fox’s mouth. He or she seemed pretty proud of its catch before heading off into the woods to enjoy lunch. You can tell by its thick coat that it is ready for winter. I just love that huge bushy tail that they have this time of year.
